Peppa Pig Play Activities for Toddlers!
So it’s pouring rain outside, and we’re inside feeling bored. All my toddler wants to do is watch Peppa Pig but starts to get a bit restless. I get out her much loved Peppa Pig toys, but she’s still restless. How can I make things a bit more exciting? Well, my toddler loves Peppa Pig and chocolate, who doesn’t?! She is also a fan of jumping up and down in muddy puddles, I wonder why?! So we’ve got; Peppa Pig, muddy puddles and chocolate. I know what I’ll do…I’ll make a muddy puddle play tray using Angel Delight! If you’re looking for rainy day activities for toddlers, then this one is a winner!
I must admit I’m a huge fan of Angel Delight. My favourite pudding at primary school was either chocolate or strawberry moose. I had a sneaky packet of chocolate Angel Delight in the cupboard, which I thought would make a good (very yummy) muddy puddle. My toddler had never tried it before so this made the activity even more exciting.
How to Make a Peppa Pig Play Tray
For this activity you will need;
First we made the chocolate Angel Delight together. My toddler helped me to measure the milk and whisk the mixture. This was great for learning new words such as, whisk, watery, thick, creamy etc.
Once the Angel Delight had set, I put some Peppa Pig toys in a play tray and added the Angel Delight to make it look like a muddy puddle. My daughter decided she needed to fill Peppa Pig’s bath with water, so that she could wash the characters. Great, I don’t need to wash up! Or so I thought…
The Importance of Imaginative Play
This activity is brilliant for imaginative play, and remaining focused on an activity for a longer period of time. Small world play is great for children’s emotional and social development, as they are able to create and resolve problems using pretend characters. I have found a great article that explains the important of small world play further. Click here to find out more.
I’m not sure exactly what made me think of this idea, but I’m so glad I did. That difficult rainy day indoors with a 2 year old and a 7 month old baby suddenly became a lot easier, and yes my toddler did eat the Anglel Delight!
