This activity is great for kids who are learning to hear initial sounds in words and recognise letter sounds. The play tray looks awesome but is very easy to set up. Children can have lots of fun reading the initial sound on each egg and finding the matching object to go inside. I made sure I had matching objects that would fit inside the eggs. They can also have fun exploring the coloured rice and scooping it into eggs.
To make this Easter egg initial sound activity tray you will need:
- Coloured rice (Find out how to make coloured rice here)
- Matching objects
Simply place the rice into the play tray and scatter around the eggs (with the initial sound written on them) and the matching objects to find.
